introduction

I spent the last ten minutes of Khaliifa’s life collecting digital pieces for this eulogy. I have absolutely nothing to say to the dead. Eulogies are always for the living.

Darius Simpson, author of what I am about to share, is one of my favorite: urban farmers, bookclub curators, poets, gap tooth smiles. I delight in his existence. He wrote the following.

A non-exhaustive list of places to start:

People’s Programs

People Feeding People

Mapinduzi (North Carolina)

All African People’s Revolutionary Party

Black Alliance for Peace

Community Movement Builders

Malcolm X Grassroots Movement

Lowcountry Action Committee

Build More Unity

Cooperation JXN

Rethink New Orleans

Jericho Movement

(I would also add The People’s Senate to this list)

The pieces of my world-making I stitch together into a quilt: love studies. Black feminism. Other things binding me together at the seams. Cozy up and pour some tea.
