Chapter one review of Deborah Gray White's "Ar'n't I a Woman? Female Slaves in the Plantation South" with the question: what makes us so attached to Beauty when it was designed to suffocate us?
Hi there! at the risk of sounding really dumb, I wanted to ask whether or not your book club is a space for primarily black people and POC. I plan to read the books and other pieces regardless! but I know with some of the book-related projects that noname has worked on that were similar to this, a lot of those spaces were supposed to be for black people. I hope this doesn't come off poorly--I want to learn more about this topic and listen to the discussions, but I'm white and don't want to make any assumptions about the spaces I want to be a part of
gorgeous piece!
Simply wonderful and informative. It was like a warm hug for my inner little Black girl.
