Please tell me about your bird baths and sweet nectar! Sweet moments are magical happenstance … altogether rare for me! I’d love to learn how to invite sweet things into a place that’s been damp, dark, and cold for so long. I sometimes call myself the concrete rose, and I hope we can become Internet friends. 🥲❤️
I found you on TikTok and your zeal for authenticity in its most unpretentious form (what a pretentious way to word this 💀😂) was quite literally compelling. Thank you so much for allowing me to share space with you online ! I would also love to connect with you in a way that’s comfortable for you. Reading this has encouraged me to take ownership of my garden space. Sending love from a tired black girl in Toronto ♥️
“Soil in my hands has always felt like a grand return to myself” Such a great line, and it really resonated with me! I began my journey through self discovery in middle school, and since then I’ve always used metaphors from nature to understand the parts of myself that were a little too complicated to comprehend.
I don’t know if it was because of the elegance in which you explained the world around us on tiktok and the way it functions or if it’s because I saw a fellow Chicagoan writer but there was something inside of me that wanted to reach out and know more about you and maybe perhaps become internet friends. Even if we don’t become friends, I wanted you to know that your words are beautiful and touched my soul and your intelligence shines through beautifully and truly, inspires me.
Reading your words and listening to you speak and explain things in a way that I feel deeply but can never articulate make me feel less alone. I hope to be able to see my own garden by listening to you tend to yours..✨
dude i feel like you are speaking to my past, the way i thought before and addressing the realisations but you are articulating them so well in a way that I've never thought to, my present and realisations i am yet to have. Thank you for the foliage you are gifting me with, Ismatu x
"I was already this person before I learned to pay attention to myself." i can't imagine me not being this person that is always reflecting but she did exist at some point and for some reason the knowledge of that is quite peaceful. interesting. i wonder why
