secondly, it’s really because I meant to send these notes out days ago. if you haven’t been keeping up with me on socials, neither have I! lol. I’ve been doing lives on Saturday nights where we talk politics. last time I gave a mini lecture about afro-pessimism 101, and lots of folks requested the notes! here they are as a jpeg at the bottom of this email.

thirdly, it’s because i’m finishing up my next essay in the “poverty is a policy choice,” which was also supposed to go up days ago but school is kicking my ass. this thesis is kicking my ass. bruh. I didn’t know essay writing could be brutal like this. and I call myself a writer! tuh.

and the fourth (and most important) reason i’m still up: i’m up every night grinning ear to ear lately. thank you all so much for making this fundraiser the stuff of dreams. every day I tell my dad the new total and every day he is at a loss for words. do you know how difficult it is to make that man speechless? we have enough for a tractor** just in time for plowing season. by the grace of God and the goodwill of the people. I cannot believe how blessed I am to be in a position to provide for my family. combined with cash app and Venmo, by the time you all wake up and read this, we’ll have hit $50,000.
